I've had two seasons of creating artwork in my life so far.
In high school, I practically lived in the art room. I had an electric tea kettle, a shelf for my snacks and lunch—and delightful, creative people to be around. It was bliss!
Following are some of my favorite pieces from that time.
Still life study
Studying reflections—and how water changes the reflections.
Subtle shifts of color in an aloe vera plant.
Sleeping ferrets
A portrait of two beloved ferrets who may (or may not) have joined me during high school classes on occasion.
Portrait
A drawing of my friend Andrew in my high school art room. I appreciated his willingness to sit for me.
Self-portraits
Self-portrait meditations. Making self-portraits was an effective way to help me practice drawing faces and manage my big feelings during high school.

A value study in blue:
Van Gogh has been a strong influence. I used this Van Gogh painting for inspiration.
What came next?
After high school, I continued my art explorations at Linn-Benton Community College and the University of Oregon. I will share more soon.
Happy holidays!
I hope the holidays treat you very well!
Sending my love,
